Description

The study of the complex and polysemic world of spirituality. A look at the spiritual and the religious. Spiritual theology with its historical and critical approaches. A consideration of anthropological and Biblical elements including the person's spiritual dimension as well as the question of interiority. Spiritual life and relational dynamic; the Pauline concept of the « spiritual man » and the Sequel Christi. The hermeneutical dimension of spiritual experience and its principle elements. Understanding spiritual experience as story and a narrative allegory for the spiritual path. The ethics of the contemplative experience : prayer, commitment and testimony. Mystical words and theological discourse. The discussion of specific questions : a possible model of the spiritual; freedom and grace; passive mysticism; the epistemological status of mysticism.
