Description

In this course, students develop the analytical and critical thinking skills necessary for making strategic decisions in an uncertain global environment. Using theory and information from the corporate context, students will analyze the firm's external and internal environments with the goal of identifying actual and potential sources of competitive advantage. Ultimately, they will learn to formulate, implement and evaluate cross-functional decisions. Topics include : an introduction to strategic management, measures of firm performance, analysis of external and internal environments, business-level strategy, corporate-level strategy, acquisition and restructuring strategies, international strategies, corporate governance, organizational structures and controls, strategic leadership, and corporate social responsibility.
